Squirrel Home Learning summer Week 3

Hello Everyone,

It has been lovely seeing you all on Zoom everyday.  It is a very different way of learning but you are all making me proud with how well you are coping. I was in school on Thursday and got to spend the day with Gracie and Albie. We found out about VE day, made some cakes and potato dumplings and had a small street party with bunting and a spitfire fly past.

As always, I have been impressed with the work you have been doing at home. Thank you for sending me the sentences I asked you to write. Your writing is progressing so well.

Flynn and Evelyn have learned to ride their bikes without stabilisers this week. Well done you two – I loved watching the videos you sent me.

Flynn has been practising his writing and drawing. Your Chewbacca picture is fantastic.  He also celebrated his 5th birthday on Wednesday and we all sang to him on Zoom.

Evelyn has made some slime. I love the glitter.

Casper has been very busy again this week. He has interviewed his Nanny and Poppy to find out what it was like during the war, has made bunting, cooked some cheese and potato wartime dumplings and even tasted Spam! I was really pleased to see that he had taken part in the Norfolk Virtual School Games Cricket Challenge. Well done Casper!

Thea has been busy practising her writing and making a Union Jack flag and a spitfire.

Ella and Arun have been finding out how long the war lasted and have also been practising adding up using a tens frame.

Ruby has been joining in with Jump Start Jonny and learning all the capital letters.

Gracie has been practising her phonics, playing in the garden and making a memory jar.

Henry has been splashing around in the paddling pool, has finished his five star bug hotel and has been practising his writing.

Olivia read the book The Paper Dolls and made her own paper doll chain. She has also been practising adding up and riding her bike.

Austin decided he wanted to be a dinosaur adventurer like Andy. He went off exploring in the woods with his brother Jenson. The boys also made a ball run out of drain pipes.

Joshua has been learning about VE day. He has made bunting and a spitfire. He has also been helping out in the garden and practising adding up using a number line.

Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you all on Zoom on Monday.

Take Care

Mrs Newbery
