Dear Oak Class,
We made it!! Half term is finally here… and so is the nice weather which is good news! You have all been working so hard at home and I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how impressed I am at the way you have adapted to our new ‘school life’ of home learning these past weeks (I have lost count of exactly how many weeks it has been now!) You have shown great maturity and resilience and should be truly proud of yourselves. Also, a huge thank you to your parents and people at home who have been supporting you in this learning – I can’t imagine how difficult it must be when juggling everything else as well. You are all superstars!!
Before I forget, we ran out of time on both zoom sessions to go over the Road Dahl anagrams so here are the answers if you had a go:
- Esio Trot
- Charlie Bucket
- Willy Wonka
- James and the Giant Peach
- The Witches (this film used to terrify me when I was younger)
- Great Glass Elevator
- Fantastic Mr Fox
- The Magic Finger
- Big Friendly Giant
Have a wonderful, relaxing Half Term guys… you deserve it!!
For the science competition, I will announce the winner on Monday as that gives others a chance to send their photos into me if they want to. The structures I have seen so far look amazing though!
I would like to give a special mention and congratulations to Evie, who entered into a competition about designing a cover photo for ‘English with Holly’ and came second place!! Wonderful news Evie … well done! Here is her fabulous design:
Here is some of your other work/fun from this week and last week. Well done to everyone who entered their story into the competition – I have included some pictures here although unfortunately, I think they may be too small to read. I have high hopes for the competition as your stories were all fantastic:
